![]() EPSA is not only a five-person board… But an organisation which exists for all trainees, and thanks to every trainee’s help! So, we seek your active participation… And the first opportunity to show how motivated you are is going to be our first General Assembly! We are sure you have a lot of good ideas to make this traineeship a success for everyone, professionally but also in our day life. That’s why we propose you to come with your subcommittees propositions. If you are passionate about anything – arts, culture, sports, politics, etc. – and would like to organize events and meetings and involve people in it, we are eager to hear your ideas! Could you please send an email (before Wednesday noon) to epsa.board@gmail.com if you wish to launch a subcommittee, or if you just have an idea of subcommittee without wanting to manage it? If you are already a group of people interested in the same subject, do not hesitate to write all the names, with identifying if possible a person in charge. You’ll find below the list of all previous subcommittees (details here). That could help you find what kind of project you would like to be involved in… But there are no restrictions on what a subcommittee can be formed on. It’s time for YOUR ideas to come up as well! If you don’t really have the time or the wish to organize something, you should come anyway… First because it will be a very good opportunity for you to have an overview of what is going to happen during the next five months, but also because you will have the opportunity to sign up already for the sub-committees that interest you! This first General Assembly will also be a good opportunity for you to get in touch with other trainees and with the board, and to let us know about any idea, remark or complaint you could have. So… When? Thursday 24 October, 17.30 Where? ASP building, room A1G-3 What? - Presentation of the board's initiatives and projects - Explanation of subcommittees and how to form them - Short subcommittees meeting, mainly to set future appointments - Everybody going to Place Lux, let’s drink to EPSA and all subcommittees’ success J See you on Thursday! Dear trainees, welcome to the European Parliament!
The European Parliament's Stagiaires Association is a voluntary organisation run for and by stagiaires. EPSA is a democratically elected, trainees-led platform which represents the interests of all stagiaires, independent of their political belief or who they work for in the European Parliament. EPSA provides a forum in which all trainees can meet, interact, and express individual or collective concerns and network. The elections for the EPSA board of fall 2013 are planned on Friday October 11th at room ASP 5G3 in the European Parliament. The available positions in the board: President The EPSA President’s task is the overall structural planning of EPSA, the chairing of board meetings and general assemblies, and liaising with organisations in and beyond the European Parliament. Vice-President The Vice-President’s responsibility, next to assisting to the tasks of the President, is leading the EPSA job conference subcommittee. Secretary-General The Secretary-General of EPSA insures the management of venues for EPSA meetings and events and is responsible for the administration of EPSA finances and other general administrative duties. Communications Manager EPSA’s Communications Manager is responsible for distributing all general information of EPSA’s activities to trainees, news distribution of EPSA events and updating the website, blog and social media platforms. Event Manager An Events Manager's duties is to coordinate trips, parties and any social event that trainees are interested in hosting/attending while in Brussels. The possibilities can range from visiting different cities or countries, to festivals, sporting events, debates, etc. You can sign up as a candidate by sending an email to epsa.board@gmail.com During the elections all the candidates for various positions will come forward and have a word of maximum 2 minutes in which they express why they want to have a certain position and what their plans are for EPSA. All trainees, regardless of where they work in the European Parliament have the right to vote in the elections. For a position in the board you need to be available at the European Parliament from October 2013 to the end of February 2014. EPSA has help from all trainees in organising social events, language classes and organising a job conference. Without being inclusive and without people volunteering, the European Parliament's Stagiaires Association just would not work. Have a great week – for more information keep an eye on the EPSA website and Facebook group.
